Marie Kormendy TPTC, TTCTD, B.Sc, M.Ed (USC)
Chair

Ms Kormendy was appointed Chair in 2006 and Chair of the Executive Committee in 2007. Marie has extensive knowledge and experience as a teacher of students with special needs, as a principal, administrator and as a lecturer and disability advisor at university. She has served as a Director on other community organisations and is currently an active Rotarian. Marie is a Churchill Fellow (1971), Paul Harris Fellow and was a Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholar from 1974 – 1975. Marie was awarded the Australian Centenary Medal in 2003.

Meg Somers B.Bus, ASA
Vice Chair

Ms Somers was appointed a Non –Executive Director in 2007, Secretary in 2008 and Vice Chair in 2010. Ms Somers is the Executive Director, Strategic Business Directions for Landgate. Meg has extensive experience in strategic planning and policy, communications, human resource management, organizational development and the public sector. Meg is also an Honorary Member of the Golden Key International Honour Society.

Timothy Strutt CChem MRSC
Vice Chair/Secretary

Mr Strutt was appointed a Non –Executive Director in 2007 and member of the Finance Committee in 2008 and Vice Chair/Secretary in 2010. Tim has a background in explosives research, forensic science, toxicology, environmental chemistry and information technology. Tim was the Computer Advisor for British Rail Research and has recently retired after 12 years as the Managing Director of Information Services & Technology Pty Ltd. Tim is a volunteer technical assessor for the National Association of Testing Authorities.

Graeme Hestelow Certificate in Accounting
Treasurer

Mr Hestelow was appointed a Non –Executive Director  and Treasurer in 2007. Mr Hestelow is also the Chair of the Finance Committee. Graeme is a retired Divisional Manager who brings strong experience in Financial Management and Administration. Graeme is involved with many Not for Profit organisations and sporting associations including Rotary and Probus.

Helen LoPresti CPA AAICD
Non-Executive Director

Mrs LoPresti was appointed a Non-Executive Director in 2009.  Helen is a CPA working in a medium sized public practice firm.  She has experience with small to large businesses and their planning and strategic requirements in addition to normal financial statement preparation.  She has a Degree in Commerce, CPA Certificate, and Certificate in Forensic Studies (Expert Witness).  She is also a director with Australasian Association of Volunteer Adminstrators and an associate member of Australian Institute of Company Directors.  Helen is also a mother of three young children.

John Milton-Smith BA Hons, MA, PhD, FMIS
Non-Executive Director

Emeritus Professor Milton-Smith was appointed a Non-Executive Director and member of the Marketing and Fundraising Committee in 2008. John was previously Deputy Vice Chancellor, Curtin Business School and subsequently Curtin International. He is currently a Senior Consultant at the Catalyst Group and brings a vast experience in business strategy and management, corporate governance and business ethics and market risk assessment.

Rob Snare BTeach AVE, Diploma Aircraft Systems Maintenance
Non-Executive Director

Mr Snare was appointed a Non –Executive Director and member of the Marketing and Fundraising Committee in 2008. Rob is currently the General Manager of The Service Arranger (TSA) which specialises in Technology Solutions. Rob has a background in education and also brings an extensive knowledge of Senior Management. Rob is also a Director of the TSA Corporation.

Judith Treby
Non-Executive Director

Ms Treby was appointed a Non –Executive Director in 2003 and member of the Finance Committee in 2008. Judith is the Editor of ‘Have A Go News’ and assists with the promotion of SVP to the retirement demographic. Judith brings expertise in Marketing and Promotion and solid business acumen. Judith has recently retired after 14 years as a Director of a Superannuation Board. Judith is also the Director of Concept Media (WA) Pty Ltd.

Karen Wyatt  CA B. Commerce Graduate Diploma Applied Finance & Investment

Ms Wyatt was appointed a Non Executive Director and a member of the Finance Committee in 2009.  Karen has extensive experience in Audit & Risk Management.
