The Mazda Foundation has supported the work of The School Volunteer Program with a generous grant for the 2010 calendar year.
The Foundation is dedicated to building a better tomorrow through support of meaningful programs that make a difference - a compatible fit with SVP's 'mentors making a difference'.
We welcome and acknowledge the valued support of the Foundation and all contributors to our work and we are grateful for the shared vision thats brings about such partnerships to deliver mentoring in schools across WA.
Volunteer Mentors
Currently 1200 Volunteer Mentors assist over 2500 students from Kindergarten to Year 12 in 250 schools. However the need for mentors remains high. Your support as a mentor is highly valued by SVP, schools and the students.
SVP encourages all people, whether a senior, retiree, parent, older school student, person with a disability or corporate employees to become Volunteer Mentors.
SVP brings together students who may benefit from a one on one mentor relationship and community minded people who aim to encourage and guide students.
Mentors are concerned people, reaching across generations, patiently encouraging students to try to do their best, and provide support to negotiate life’s challenges.

West Coast TAFE
West Coast TAFE in Joondalup is needing extra mentors for its vocational students. This is very rewarding work for volunteers who may have a background in some of the areas of student study, although that experience is not essential for successful mentoring.
